There will be space pirates one day, as sure as the sun comes up. Where will they hide? And how will they spend their loot? Who will catch them?
That's extremely extraterritorial jurisdiction, so I recommend the original Constitutional remedy (see Article 1, Section 8), Letters of Marque and Reprisal. Commission some other, even badder, space pirates to after the ones who bother us. It worked with the earthbound pirates.

Those Canadian privateers weren't too successful against US armed merchantmen, but the strategy is sound. Just use bigger guns next time.
GWB: There are so many rumors and so much tea-leaf-reading going on about Joe Biden that I don't know what to think. For example, there's buzz that his wife has signed up for a full course load for the Fall semester (she teaches English at Northern Virginia Community College) which naturally means she things he won't run. If I had to guess, I'd say he will not run, but he'll drag out the speculation for as long as possible because he loves speculating about the possibility.
