Most Eyebrow-Raising Headline of the Week

Two South Carolina men charged for forcing alligator to drink beer - KFOR.com

According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources report, "the incident took place on Wednesday, May 24, on a public dirt road between Hardeeville and Tillman in Jasper County. Joseph Andrew Floyd Jr., 20, of Ridgeland, and Zachary Lloyd Brown, 21, of Ridgeland, admitted to officers that they picked up the alligator after they saw it crossing the road. They then poured beer into the animal’s mouth and took photos to post on social media. According to Floyd Jr., they then released the alligator and watched it swim away in a nearby pond."

Well it was Busch beer, not a micro brewery product, the uncouth rustics!

Pickup trucks and cheap beer, that's kind of a formula for trouble.

TSB: My brother in law's brother was shot in Reynosa,Mexico on Saturday. He was a career Pemex nat gas employee. So far he's had 3 bullets removed and still needs surgery to remove a 4th from his neck. No word on his condition. I only met him twice but real nice guy. Lots of 'formerly employed' Pemex workers these days. (and formerly alive Reynosa police)

I'm very sorry to hear about your BIL's brother. Hope he recovers. I was in Reynosa to visit a PEMEX facility maybe five years ago, and saw how about one third of their refined gas was "stolen" (meaning, it was taken by the cartels as a tax). Until the Mexican Army came in, the government did not have the force to deal with the cartels on an even basis, what with the police and any other local parties being overwhelmed and intimidated. A sad situation. If it were up to me, the USG would leave Afghanistan and bring its shock n' awe to bear on the cartels, which are a much greater threat to our interests.

Thanks TSB! Speaking of gas, my wife worked for the past 18mos as the maintainence manager for a bunch of large apartment buildings. Recently she was moved to the railroad part of the business as the "buyer" of all the parts used to maintain the railroad.
Her replacement at the old job called her a couple weeks ago to check on a new gas installation that wouldn't work. The vendor had installed a unit not intended to use natural gas but claimed he would just modify it and everything would be just fine. My wife figured out that the vendor was lying, got the payment refunded and got the right one installed about 5 days later from another company saving about $6000. I was thinking about that apartment that blew up in London after a new gas installation that cost a fortune. If you listen to 4 min (5:58-9:58) of this video it's clear that this fire was from the new gas installation and the only way to survive was to do exactly the opposite of what you had been told. gwb https://youtu.be/GrDCWUN3aIQ (I'm thinking the death toll will be about 90% and then they will throw the rest in jail for criticizing the government.)
