SecState Rubio Sends an ALDAC and a Shot Across the Bows

On his first full day as SecState, Mario Rubio delivered a strong message about the priorities and missions of State under the second Trump administration.

Here's the gist of them:
The State Department will no longer undertake any activities that facilitate or encourage mass migration … [Western Hemisphere priorities will become] stopping illegal and destabilizing migration, and negotiating the repatriation of illegal immigrants.
President Trump issued an executive order eliminating “DEIA” requirements, programs, and offices throughout the government. This order will be faithfully executed and observed in both letter and spirit.
[E]liminating our focus on political and cultural causes that are divisive at home and deeply unpopular abroad.
[S]upport and defend Americans’ rights to free speech, terminating any programs that in any way lead to censoring the American people.
[D]o away with climate policies that weaken America … [and support] a return to American energy dominance.
You can't fault the man for either directness or promptness.

So far they're walking the walk and talking the talk!

The ICE raids are even larger than I'd expected, FEMA has a new director (a fierce critic of the old FEMA) and Trump is going to North Carolina and LA disaster zones today, DEI is over (at least for feds and fed contractors), it's pardons all around, the SecState is heading to Panama., and the week isn't over yet.

Sounds like the soothsayer in "Julius Caesar"! Is the country truly in a political shift. If it is it's the young!

That's the way the young are trending now, most of them anyway. In the last election women under 30 voted for Trump 11 percent more then they did in 2020, for example. And don't forget this insight by the hero of 1984: "if there is hope, it lies in the proles." The young and the working class (which today just means those without a college degree) will determine the future.

The only thing is the Republicans had better deliver( at least some things).

This is what the Democrats are now" A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing"!

I also have believed the Blacks and Hispanics will lead us out of this silliness!

The Democrats are at low ebb right now, no doubt about it. The more realistic ones like Pod Save America and even James Car-vile know its the class and culture thing that's their problem. On Blacks and Hispanics, yesterday I saw new approval numbers for Trump's first week and he is now hovering around 58 percent approval by Bs, Hs, and Whites. Equally approved by all! If I were a politician I'd pay very close attention to that.

Few will pay attention.
