Most Eyebrow-Raising Headline of the Week

Don't the Brits call that an "own goal?"

"Al-Qaeda-linked rebels apologise after cutting off head of wrong person" (UK Telegraph)

... Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham militants say sorry for decapitating a fellow extremist rather than enemy ...

  2. Was it Kipling who said something about "if you can keep your head when all those about you are losing theirs"? Seems to apply to Syrian rebels.

  3. TSB: Good one! And I also found this on brainy quotes.com:

I have struck a city - a real city - and they call it Chicago... I urgently desire never to see it again. It is inhabited by savages.

  5. TSB: Here is my nom for most eyebrow raining 'UNHEADLINE OF THE WEEK'. I know there is no such word as unheadline but it irks me that at the Wednesday hearing on 'THE SURVEILLANCE TRANSPARENCY ACT OF 2013' only 2 members of the committee bothered to show up. The chairman and Jeff Flake. Funny how all these champions of total surveillance seem to be dodging the C-span cameras. (Thanks Snowden!) gwb

    Al Franken, Minnesota, Chairman
    Dianne Feinstein, California
    Chuck Schumer, New York
    Sheldon Whitehouse, Rhode Island
    Chris Coons, Delaware
    Mazie Hirono, Hawaii
    Jeff Flake, Arizona, Ranking Member
    Orrin Hatch, Utah
    Mike Lee, Utah
    John Cornyn, Texas
    Lindsey Graham, South Carolina

  7. "BILL CLINTON CHARACTERIZES THE OBAMA ERA: NO SECURITY AND NO PRIVACY" .. calls for a woman president in 2016!

    http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/11/18/bill-clinton-says-the-next-american-president-should-be-a-woman/

This is great TSB:Bill gently suggests that if the government has access to all your phone calls and emails maybe you have no privacy. He knows that nobody cares until it is them that got screwed. gwb
