After listening to the lyrical stylings of Vladimir Putin for another day, I've decided to cleanse my palate with some post-Cold War music.
The Leningrad Cowboys (a Finnish group) backed up by The Red Army Choir (not a put-on, but the actual Red Army Choir) is just the thing.
I hope Lenin is rolling over in his mausoleum.

And here I thought a long evening of ethanol ingestion would be necessary to wipe Putin's voice from my noggin. Thank you for posting this and saving at least me from stupor and inevitable hangover. Forwarding to the Raleigh-Spy-Conference mob; eternally grateful for your vigilance at pouncing on these gems.
And if Sweet Home Alabama isn't enough, their visually nonsensical version of Gimme All Your Lovin' blended with the Hallelujah Chorus and a kick-ass brass section and guitars that look like tractors and Eastern European folk dancers engaging in a hoe-down is one fine mind-altering experience. They are one great cult band. They also did at least one serious song and video, with historical images of the Russian Revolution, 'Give Me Back My Leningrad':
