America's Place in the World, To Be Explained May 5

This upcoming event at the Brookings Institution looks like it will be good.
On May 5, the Brookings Project on International Order and Strategy (IOS) will host a discussion on America’s global role and the release of the newest edition of Pew Research Center’s series, “America’s Place in the World.” This survey explores American views of U.S. foreign policy today and the role of U.S. leadership abroad. The study also looks at which national security threats concern Americans the most.

Carroll Doherty, director of political research at Pew Research Center, will open the discussion by explaining the survey’s findings. Senior Fellow Robert Kagan, author of “The World America Made” (Vintage Books, 2013), will talk about the implications of the survey for U.S. support of the international order. Derek Chollet, former assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs and author of the forthcoming book “The Long Game” (Public Affairs, 2016), will offer insight into how these findings fit with President Obama’s worldview. Laure Mandeville, U.S. bureau chief for Le Figaro, will contribute an international perspective on American politics and U.S. power abroad.

TSB: It will be interesting, for sure. I hope Pepe Escobar shows up there because I'd like to see what he has to say about it.

Prediction: Despite what the corporate media is saying I think Kasich just sewed up the VP nomination today. Trump needs him badly to make the pivot to becoming 'more presidential'. His biggest assets are: 1.He's actually accomplished things in congress. 2.He's done his best not to throw workers and ex-workers under the bus as governor. 3. He and his wife are both bankers. 4.He's a much better politician than Hillary or anyone she might pick for VP. 5.(and most important) He realizes that $21 trillion in debt is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of our country's financial and military future. gwb

TSB: This just in:Moldova: Anti-NATO rally blocks US military vehicles as joint drills begin. Moldova: Anti-NATO rally blocks US military vehicles as joint drills begin.

(to stop Russian aggression in eastern europe) Incidentally, as joint U.S. military drills began today in Moldova, which is virtually bordering Russia, lawmakers from the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova and other protestors rallied to try and block U.S. military vehicles from crossing the border into Moldova..

NATO troops in Moldova?? It's against the Moldova constitution! Neocons at work!
gwb

Igor Dodon, the leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova called the drills a military occupation.

"Carrying out a march of NATO vehicles in Moldova can only be described as the military occupation of the country. It is a rough slap to the Constitution of the Republic and to the Parliament that adopted the declaration on permanent sovereignty and neutrality of Moldova"

TSB: A little clarity emerged today on the pro-trump super-pac when the head of it was convicted on bribery charges. Dr. Ben Carson attended today's meeting of the pac which says it will raise $1 billion for Trump and the RNC.(Since super-pacs are legal bribery he will probably able to continue his job while in jail.)

Trump's new fundraising chairman is a former Goldman Sacchs shyster who formed a team to buy Indy Bank which had defrauded mortgage holders. The group made $1 billion by delaying repayments to those same people. (That's not a crime anymore so
he's a financial genius!) So now all the recent candidates are funded by the big banks or tied to them. (Except Bernie) gwb

TSB: Big Trump rally tonite in Eugene, Oregon. Lots of anti-trump protesters outside but completely peacefull.

Meanwhile, lots of Anti-Hillary protesters in Los Angeles outside Hillary's speech. Bernie says "Let them protest outside! It's called Freedom of Speech! But not inside.

I guess Hillary doesn't like being called a Liar and such. gwb

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-12/raw-venezuela-looter-burned-alive-while-streets-filled-people-killing-animals-food ... and then there is the coup in Brazil:

and the secret "North American Union" plan.

Like a doctor setting a fracture, the underwriters of the North American Union plan to actually break up regions of America to ‘enhance’ the management and control of society at many levels. According to author Jerome Corsi:

Understanding the plan to merge the U.S., Mexico and Canada, says Corsi, is “the only context in which the current immigration travesty makes sense – and it must be stopped.” This aim to create a North American Union between the United States, Mexico and Canada is the real reason behind “comprehensive immigration reform.”
