I've Seen Word Clouds From Both Sides Now

Rows and rows of empty chairs,
Appointees missing, no one's there,
While I fill out this questionnaire.
I've looked at clouds that way.

You know the song. Just hum along as you complete the survey request that you State Department employees received this week.

I saw a claim that over 10,000 employees have already responded to the survey, which, if true, means the million dollar contractor on this job will have a lot of work to do collating results of the multiple-choice questions, measuring the employee engagement stuff, and searching for key words in the open-ended comments that answered questions about "what three things would you change" and "what are the three things you're proudest of accomplishing," and so on.

How else would they go through that many open-ended comments except by searching for key words? Even with a million dollars worth of resources, you could barely skim the 10,000, 20,000, maybe even 70,000 replies this survey may get.

It's all just more material for Insiniam's word clouds. Who needs to read when you have data visualization? I imagine Insigniam's people are even now preparing binders full of cloudy graphics about autonomy, growth, meaning, and so forth. Once that's done, it will be on to the listening tour!

TSB: I love that song!! And you remember when Bernie was ridiculed for wanting to forgive student loan debt and provide free college tuition?? Well, Trump promised to make college education affordable again and as of March 29th HE HAS DONE IT!!
"The Crisis Has Become Pandemic" - System To Collect Defaulted Student Loans Is No Longer Functioning..... Collection companies were court ordered to stop collecting overdue loans and the whole process has come to a halt. There is no fix in sight and the 91,000
new "collecties" who were due to have $$ taken from their bank accounts in May can rest easy now and for the indefinite future.
Watch for an Education Department Word Cloud Contest over the next couple of weeks. gwb

TSB: Look Ransomware attacking 74 countries! They stole it from the NSA and most of the attacks were on Russia!!
Update 2: Security firm Kaspersky Lab has recorded more than 45,000 attacks in 74 countries in the past 10 hours. Most of the attacks have targeted Russia. (So Trump looks pretty good saying Comey wouldn't prioritize the LEAKS!!) This is going to be interesting.. and payment is in bitcoin which just hit $19.00 2 days ago. gwb

TSB: This is a pretty good youtube about the ransomware attack in London. They evidently want $450,000,000, or 20 bitcoins per computer in 7 days or they will delete all the files. Evidently BHS uses Window 7 which the NSA created a back door for to use this software on and DIDN'T TELL MICROSOFT!!

In the video the London reporter says it's "very unlikely" the government would pay the ransom... when everyone should know that they have no choice. Loosing the use of all the computers and files would cost a fortune and would be almost as bad as bombing hospitals in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, or using air power in Afghanistan. Then there are the 46 other countries also attacked today. Trump should step up tomorrow and say the USA will pay these ransoms because we were so stupid. Not that that is likely. WWIII is on and Putin didn't start it. I'm anxious to see what they got in Ukraine. Lots of Russian companies hit too.gwb
