The Crown Prosecution Service has told Harry Dunn's parents it will continue to pursue the prosecution of their son's alleged killer, despite the High Court ruling she had diplomatic immunity.-- snip --Chief Crown Prosecutor for the East Midlands, Janine Smith, wrote to the 19-year-old motorcyclist's family just before the anniversary of the CPS's charging decision, to say she was 'satisfied that there remains sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.'The family had contested the diplomatic immunity asserted on behalf of the suspect, but High Court judges accepted the Foreign Office's position that Sacoolas 'enjoyed immunity from UK criminal jurisdiction'. In Ms Smith's letter to Mrs Charles and Mr Dunn she said: 'I wanted to take the opportunity to provide an update following our consideration of the recent High Court judgment.'Having considered the judgment, and notwithstanding the outcome in respect of diplomatic immunity, I am satisfied that there remains sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and that it remains in the public interest for the prosecution to continue.'The CPS remains of the view that Mrs Sacoolas should return to the UK to stand trial.'I do hope this confirmation is of some small comfort to Harry's family and friends at this challenging time of the year.'Evidently Ms. Janine Smith, Chief Crown Prosecutor for the East Midlands, believes the best way she can be of some small comfort to the Dunn family and friends at this challenging time of year is to keep alive their false hope that, someday, maybe far in the future, there will be an extradition and prosecution of the American driver despite that driver’s immunity to the criminal jurisdiction of the UK.That is, frankly, an abomination.If the officials of the Crown Prosecution Service for the East Midlands cannot summon up the moral courage to speak simple fact to the family – such as the fact that diplomatic immunity is an absolute bar to extradition short of a waiver by the U.S. Secretary of State, and that is something which the U.S. has never granted in such cases – then it would be better for them to say nothing.Step back from this ill-advised servicing of the family’s sentiments, Ms. Smith. It sounds like the new strategy will have to focus around declassification of the documents related to direct cooperation between the Biden's and the Chi-Coms. It also sounds like Trump is still in DC unlike his schedule said. He would need Sydney's help to roll out the declassified information. gwb

TSB: I looks like there are some things that are too barbaric for the UK to do for the US like sending Julian Assange to certain death in the US. He has a bail hearing Wednesday and AMLO has offered him asylum! gwb
GWB: You just missed my Assange post of a few minutes ago. I have strong doubts about Assange's presumed risk of suicide; he put himself into close confinement for 7 (8?) years, and he tolerates his current British prison okay.
But, it looks like he will escape prison in another two weeks, pending the long-shot of a U.S. appeal.

TSB: Yep, late to the party again! Today, a new strain of Covid-19 was confirmed in South Aftrica, Much more deadly than the UK one. BOJO announces a new lockdown and it has become completely murky whether Congress or the plebes will ever see the evidence of massive voter fraud.

TSB: So they arrested the leader of "The Proud Boys". A guy from Florida who flew in yesterday for the DC festivities. Apparently he was greeted at the airport by some pretty heavily armed members of the group and arrested for burning a STOLEN FLAG! lol This all has banana republic flavor more than a KGB flavor. It will be interesting to see what the charges and the bail are.
And if he gets to keep his phone this week.
He has been a big player in Portland's "Extended Summer of Love" where a lot of police made over $200,000 in overtime putting yellow tape around vandalism scenes and nobody went to jail. You never had a chance to find out who these people were from the totally controlled media that have successfully labeled them as Trump's gang. After Biden wins in a relatively routing fashion tomorrow, Trump is going to unleash whatever bombshells he has. I think #1 will be signed confessions from Jeffrey Epstein plus evidence of Chinese extortion of people in the House and Senate, Governors etc Then he will seize the voting machines and turn the recount in an insurrection act affair. gwb
