Washington DC's Walk for Water Has Been Rained Out

I received the bad news in a Department Notice titled "Walk for Water Postponed Due to Rain."

Clicking on the link I found this:
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE WEATHER FORECAST.

The annual 6k Walk for Water helps raise awareness about water issues worldwide and here at home in D.C. All are welcome. This is part of the Department of State's worldwide Green Race initiative, which uses outdoor activities to raise awareness and stimulate action to help surmount environmental challenges. Walkers follow the Potomac River to the House of Sweden in Georgetown, where environmental nonprofits will be sharing information and have interactive booths. There will even be a giant inflatable toilet, so don't miss the fun. You can also get updates from Twitter (@StateGDI and #6kwaterwalk). Please note that we are trying to reduce the walk's environmental footprint, so bring your own water (preferably in a reusable bottle!). You can refill your bottle at the Swedish embassy.

What sense does it make to postpone because it's raining? Instead, why not declare victory and party in the rain all day long? We should even flush our toilets for the sheer fun of it.

My (rain) hat is off to whoever wrote that title. It falls like steady drops of irony which join into rivulets of humor before combining into a steady stream of paradox and finally becoming a raging torrent of sarcasm.

TSB: Where's Miss Molly? I love this one too! gwb

MSNBC ignores Chris Matthews' wife losing her congressional race

(MSNBC: All the news that doesn't jeopordize our crazy personal agendas and fat salaries!)

She can always go back to local news as if nothing happened. Chris himself was in politics - a long time Congressional staffer, AKA a Hill rat - before going into TV journalism, just like his fellow Hill rat George Poppycockadopulos of ABC News. It's a revolving door.

TSB: They can all go back to reading the local news as far as I'm concerned. and

It looks like 3 identical nuclear power plants in Belgium and Germany have a Stuxnet problem. With the systems they have taken offline, (ability to remove used nuclear fuel from internal storage) all it would take would be and interruption in ability to refuel the backup power generators for a week and the nuke plants would melt down a la Fukashima. And somebody shut off Zurich's electricity to the main shopping district today for an hour. Nobody there can say what the cause was. Blowback? gwb

TSB: I like this 'Looney' guy's ideas. A great scenario for Hillary. gwb

Looney
Looney's picture
James Comey, the current Director of the FBI, has a chance to get Scalia’s Supreme Court seat, and here’s how…
Loretta Lynch has been stonewalling Hillary’s indictment, so Comey should wait until the Democratic Convention deifies Hillary, and then…
Announce his resignation on live TV blaming Lynch for refusing to prosecute Hillary.
He will definitely be supported by most of the agents working the case and she will promptly get indicted. That, of course, doesn’t mean that she will ever go to jail, but she will be finished as a nominee. Democrats will promptly come up with a replacement, but it won’t matter – Trump will easily win the Presidential Beauty Contest.
So, after a short “vacation”, Comey will get Scalia’s seat with a “Thank You” card from Trump.
Christie, of course, will get pissed, loose his appetite, and shed a few pounds, but the Attorney Genital position will eventually ease his pain. I think? ;-)

TSB: I was watching the Sen. Foreign Relations meeting yesterday as McCain and others were dancing with Dunford and Carter over the need to send massive forces to Syria. Nobody asked about Egypt or Libya but a British/Italian initial thrust against Sirte was underway. It didn't go well. They were ambushed by explosives loaded trucks, suicide bombers and heavy machine gun fire. Hostages were taken? gwb

TSB: A great 'Bernie Blast' for the workers of Carrier/United Technologies in Indiana. The former CEO got a $158 million retirement package/UT got $130 Mil from the Ex/Im Bank and US taxpayers get to foot the bill. gwb (not covered by any US media of course)

TSB: Here's some good news I've been waiting for for a long time!

On the Friday broadcast of his radio show, Glenn Beck revealed that he has lost $500,000 campaigning with Ted Cruz , but said that has nothing to do with the recent firing of 40 of his employees.

However shocking to the pink-slipped employees, this latest round of mass firings comes as no surprise to insiders at The Blaze and Mercury Radio Arts, which laid off dozens of employees last May on a day referred to internally as “Black Monday,” around the same time that Beck was purchasing a private jetliner and a $200,000 Maybach sedan. gwb

I don't think Baghdad has fallen yet, but the Sadrists are shaking it up a bit. So far as I know the U.S. embassy goes on as usual, an island of stability in the stormy seas of Iraqi conflicts.
